Concert for April 30th

On Sunday, April 30th, from 2 PM to 7PM, in Ft. White at the recreation
field on Rt. 47 Paul Gibbs is organizing a FESTIVAL to celebrate and benefit
the Ichetucknee River.  The Celtic Rock Band, Seven Nations has agreed to
play at this benefit to Stop the Ichetucknee Cement Kiln.  Paul is soliciting
other bands, vendors for food, a portable stage, donations of seed money, and
people to help him organize the event.  New T-shirts will be for sale.  If
anyone wants to donate bumper stickers or money for them, please contact
Virginia Seacrist at the return e-mail address.
Please contact Paul by telephoning 904-497-2276 or 352-219-6860, or
e-mail him at calu@atlantic.net.
By all means, mark APRIL 30 on your calendar and plan to enjoy the river,
learn the latest news about the cement kiln, and enjoy a day of musical
entertainment.

New concert material

Excitement stirs the spring air around the Ichetucknee River. Ft. White
will spring into the summer tubing season with a Festival Sunday, April 30th
from 2 PM to 8 PM at the Columbia County Sports Field beyond the new high
school on Route 47. Community leaders are gathering musical entertainers such
as the Celtic Rock Band Seven Nations; artists such as our locally famous
photographer John Moran are donating pieces of their work for auction, and
vendors such as Jim Wood's Canoe Outpost are donating canoe trips down the
Ichetucknee. I'm donating hydrobike rides and a new SICK T-shirt will be
available for sale.
Citizen advocate Paul Gibbs needs help and more donations.  He hopes
Ichetucknee River lovers from all over the state and beyond will join in the
festivities to raise awareness of the cement kiln proposed only three miles
from the blue waters.  Candidates running for local, state, and Federal seats
are invited to show up and show their support for preservation of the river.
Advocacy groups of all types are welcome to set up booths.
Specific needs are a stage, an electrician who will install an electrical
board, donations of money for the purchase of materials and advertising.  We
welcome other artists to set up booths and offer pieces for auction and to
perform their music.
We hope our network of River Lovers on the Internet will pass the word.
Print out this notice and pass it around.  A flyer will be forthcoming when
more information is available.  We hope for thousands of River Lovers to
congregate to show Governor Bush the number of voters who object to the
cement kiln.
Please respond to Paul Gibbs, calu@atlantic.net (904-497-2276 or
352-219-6860) or hit return on this e-mail and I will forward your
information to Paul.
